We are very happy to invite you all to the "Mexican Street" celebration on Saturday the 24th of September starting at 11am. This event is part of the open air festivity "Zažít město jinak" organized by automat and www.zelenamapa.cz . La Calle Mexicana will be all along Americká street in Vinohrady.

The event will offer plenty of attractions as live music, traditional food, margaritas and a great family atmosphere. La Calle Mexicana is for free and all you need to do is to come along and enjoy the family party.

Christmas-Vánoce Open House Party

We are very glad to invite all of you food lovers in Prague, to our Open House Christmas Dinner. The idea of this event is to share with others the taste of a traditional or your favorite, Christmas speciality. For this day the restaurant will open its doors at 18:00 hrs. and only the Bar will be providing service (meaning we will not be selling food)... But of course Las Adelitas will cook and share a special dish too!

We will also have the traditional Mexican Fruit Punch (with or without Alcohol) and specials on other drinks.

For this event you do not require a reservation, everybody is invited!

Día de Muertos / Day of the Dead / Den mrtvých.

The day of the dead (1st and 2nd of Nov.), is a mexican celebration with Pre-Hispanic origins, that honors the souls of the deceased, remembering friends and relatives who have passed away by gathering at private homemade altars (Ofrendas), that usually contain the favorite foods and beverages as well as photos and memorabilia of the departed, they are often decorated with orange mexican Marigold flowers (cempasúchitl ).

One of the most traditional Items to this celebration, is a sweet bread called "Pan de Muerto" which is prepared and baked during the previous days to this events.

Keeping this traditions, and sharing them with all of our friends in Prague, Las Adelitas will be preparing "Pan de Muerto" during the weekend, its perfect to have accompanied with hot chocolate in this shivery weather.

Den mrtvých (1. a 2.listopadu), je mexická oslava s prehispánským původem, která ctí duše zemřelých, vzpomíná se na přátele a příbuzné, kteří již nejsou mezi živými. Pořádají se setkání u soukromých domácích oltářů (Ofrendas), které obvykle obsahují oblíbená jídla a nápoje, stejně jako fotografie a památky na zesnulé a často jsou zdobeny oranžovými květinami Cempasúchitl (Měsíčkem lékařským).

Jedním z nejtradičnějších pokrmů této slavnosti, je sladké pečivo "Pan de Muerto", které se připravuje a peče během předchozích dnů této události.

Pro zachování této tradice a jejího sdílení se všemi našimi přáteli v Praze, bude Las Adelitas připravovat "Pan de Muerto" během víkendu. V tomto nevlídném počasí je nejpříhodnější "Pan de Muerto" konzumovat s horkou čokoládou.

The cost of the Delivery service, offered by Modrý Anděl is 40Kč + 17Kč per km from our Restaurant (Americká 8) to the address of destination. The time depends on the distance and busyness of the restaurant. The restaurant does NOT surcharge for this service.

200 years of Mexico at Las Adelitas.

During September 2010, Mexico is celebrating 200 years of its Independence and in November, 100 years of its Revolution. Due to this festivities, Las Adelitas is inviting you to join us to celebrate this Mexican holidays with a traditional Mexican dish: Tacos al Pastor, in its different presentations, Alambre, Gringa or Taquitos.

Tacos al Pastor aka Tacos de Trompo

The Tacos al Pastor are the most popular variety of tacos in all Mexico, and the method for preparation is its most distinctive characteristic, and since the dish is the result of the adoption of the "shawarma" spit-grilled meat brought by Lebanese immigrants to Mexico, it is also similar to the Turkish döner kebap and the Greek gyros. Tacos al Pastor are made with marinated pork meat, with a pineapple and cilantro garnish and green or red salsa.

So please, don't hesitate and join us this Wednesday the 15th after 5pm. There will be a special price for Margaritas (79 kč) and Corona beer (50 kč).

The definition of "Taco" is very simple, which is a corn or flour tortilla folded or rolled around a filling. The filling can be anything from beef, chicken, pork, seafood, vegetables and or cheese; and these fillings are made as a stew or sauteed.

For the best experience of flavors, tacos must be eaten with your hands and are accompanied by many different kinds of salsas and garnishes depending on each kind of filling; the most common are fresh cilantro, onion, tomato, lettuce and cheese.
